September 2023- ROC Activities “A Green Shopping Guide” – Portugal
In Portugal, according to their ROC Green Shopping Guide, students decided to
bring reusable bags from home for their purchases. They prefered bio or organic products because in addition to being beneficial to health, no pesticides and chemical fertilizers are used. They also preferred buying larger packages to individual doses.
They also decided to Refuse products that harm nature; to Rethink and reflect on daily attitudes; to Reduce the use of plastic bags, reduce impulse buying of products, reduce water and gas consumption. They took responsibiliy for their actions and the impact they cause, reusing what would otherwise be discarded, giving it another destination, repairing what needed to be repaired; recycling when there was no longer any reuse or repair. Respecting life, living beings, people, work or school, the environment and nature, was their goal, to help make the world a better and more sustainable place
